Sappington Archery Team Qualifies for Missouri State Tournament

The Archery Team from Sappington Elementary participated in the Saint Louis Shootout on February 13th. The team took third place, the first Saint Louis County school to place in the St Louis regional tournament . Mary Driemeyer and Chris Thomson, PE teachers at Sappington, coach the team. Maura Clancy, a fifth grader at Sappington, took first place in the girls elementary division. She will travel to Osage Beach on March 18th to shoot at the State Tournament.

Ability Awareness Day!

Third grade had a great day today learning about all kinds of different abilities and disabilities.

We started with a presentation on Challenger Baseball. Look for a flyer about this amazing program in your Wednesday folder. 

Then it was on to different sessions to learn from our presenters. Mr. Parker taught us about cerebral palsy. 

We learned about people with visual impairments and loved learning about Braille.

We learned about hearing loss.

Finally, we learned about Autism - and loved the jeopardy game!

It was a wonderful day!
